Research and planning- analysis of music magazine 1

Genre

The genre of my music magazine is pop, I can tell this by looking at what sort of people there are on the front cover, in  this it's a famous singer Madonna, most pop music magazines have famous singers on the front cover. The colours are associated with pop, basically they are all bright colours which attract readers.The fonts are big which attracts the readers on what the magazine is going to be about, such as on the front of the cover it says 'Madonna Rules UK' so its going to be about Madonna and her fashion and styles.

Representation

Madonna is represented in this magazine, by giving a straight forward picture of herself, with some fashionable clothes which makes her look like a pop artist, she uses attitude as she says she rules UK, making her self look powerful and strong for the world.

Audience

The audience for this pop magazine is either teenagers or adults who love listening to these pop musics and are a fan of them.

Media Language

The shot types that are being used here are mid shots for the picture of Madonna and over the shoulder shot for the pictures on the left. The colours are bright which makes the whole magazine look eye catching and people would know that it is a pop magazine. The fonts are big and small, the big fonts are to let the readers know what the magazine is going to be about and the small fonts are used to write the story headings for the stories which are going to be in the magazine.
