Research and planning: Location research

From looking at Top Of The Pops magazine location doesn't seem to be as important, as you can see from these images. So I will ensure that I take my photos in good light so I can cut them out and place them on bright backgrounds.

Research and planning- changes made for pop music magazine

For the pop music magazine, I first thought of doing faith as my model, but then I changed my mind and done Berlin as she knows how to do model poses. Also I have changed some bits of the layout of my cover page and  and contents page as I have been working throughout my magazine.

Research and planning- Make up test shots

 

This my model at the moment she has no make up on, so she doesn't look like a pop artist to put on a pop magazine, she has no lip stick, eye liner and mascara on.

 

This is another close up of her face to show the marks and the spots on her face. To make this look perfect I would have to use photo shop to remove the lines and the spots to make her face look perfect. just the way pop artists do it in their magazine.

This is the perfect picture of my model as you can see she has all the types of make up on to look perfect for the pop magazine. As you can see here on this photo she has mascara, red lipstick and eyeliner on to look like a real pop artist.

Research and planning- Plan for the week 14/12/2011

This week I am going to

• Scan all the production sheets in and upload them to blogger
• Carry on with the music magazine
• Try and get some extra posts on the blogger
• Try and start on my contents page before we finish for 2 weeks
• Do my podcast before we finish

Research and planning- My tagline on the masthead

Rock it and Pop it till you Drop

For the pop music magazine I am thinking of using this as the tagline as the words 'rock' and 'pop' are on my masthead, and I have made this to go with the masthead also I put a rhyme to go with the magazine, 'rock,drop,pop', to keep the whole phrase flowing and in a sequence. on the magazine am going to put this across the masthead as a waving banner.

Research and planning- progress on pop music magazine

 

Here is a shot of the progress I've done on photo shop of my pop music magazine. This is just a progress shot to show what point I am already on, and this is where I will be carrying on from and try and get it finished for the end of this term and if not then finish it before the start of the college day. I have just added some of the headings of the things that i am going to add in the pop music magazine and some of the colour scheme that I have added to illustrate the consistences that are going to be throughout my pop music magazine. There might be some changes going on with this bit after I try and get the other bit done of the magazine to make it look better and the things that I change are going to be the weaknesses, such as the masthead which is shown diagonally put on the colour copy of my draft but here its just straight and also there are pictures on top that i was going to put I have changed my mind and not put them on. Then there is also the page numbers which are taken off, because I am going to have them on the  contents page anyway.

Research and planning- font sizes and colour

• My font sizes for the pop music magazine are going to be shown in their importance such as the double page spread is going to have a size 11 or 12 for the story writing as this is going to make it look real and this will gain me more marks.
• For the front cover the masthead is going to have a size of 36 to 40 depending on how it looks on the page because it can't be too big or too small 
•  The colour of the text is going to be with the colour scheme of the magazine to show the consistent scheme of the whole pop music magazine and it should follow the colour rule throughout the whole magazine.
• The colours I might use are yellow, blue and pink, I don't think yellow would look really good as the font colour, because you probably might not be able to see it.
• The headlines for the front cover of the different types of stories that I am going to use are going to have a size of 14-18 also depending on how it looks.

Research and planning- extra post model poses

Here are some of pop model poses that I have got from the internet, this helped me figure out what which pose style I would like my model to do. The first image with the lady with a microphone, I could have used this because of the microphone, but this also has a bad point because its a close up of the face which is going to leave some space on the magazine at the bottom.
The second picture is o.k I can use this but its the same with the other image but a over the shoulder shot.

The third picture I like because its the whole body this is what I am going to use but with a different kind of pose.The fourth picture isn't good because it doesn't show the face and I need my model to show her face and the makeup to see the colour scheme of the jewellery and the make up design.
